Answers to the most common questions about trauma-informed coaching, reconnection, and the path to healing.
1) What is reconnection?
reconnection is a space for life-changing conversations. I blend transformative coaching with a trauma-informed approach to help you regulate your nervous system, understand patterns, and reconnect with your authentic self.
2) Is this therapy or coaching?
Coaching with a trauma-informed lens. I don’t diagnose or treat mental illness. If therapy is a better fit, I’ll say so and help you find the right support.
3) What happens in the first session?
We slow things down, map what’s going on, set aims, and try one or two gentle regulation tools so you leave with something practical.
4) How many sessions will I need, and how often?
Most people start with 4–6 sessions, weekly or fortnightly, then review. Some move to monthly maintenance. We balance momentum with not overwhelming your system.
5) Is it confidential? What if I’m in crisis?
Sessions are confidential with standard safeguarding exceptions (risk of harm/legal requirements). This isn’t a crisis service—if you’re in immediate danger call 999 (UK) or Samaritans 116 123.
6) Do you work online or in person?
Both. Most clients meet online via Zoom; limited in-person sessions are available by arrangement.
7) What are your fees and how do cancellations work?
Fees are shared before booking. Cancellations/reschedules with 48 hours’ notice incur no charge; later cancellations are chargeable (emergencies considered).
8) Who is this for—and not for?
For adults seeking paced, practical support around anxiety, overwhelm, patterns, recovery, and reconnection. It’s not suitable for acute crisis, active psychosis, or where intensive clinical care is required.
9) Will we use specific methods (e.g., IFS, Polyvagal, EMDR-informed)?
Yes—where helpful. I draw from nervous-system education, somatic tools, IFS-informed parts work, and EMDR-informed principles, woven into straightforward coaching.
10) How do I get started?
