Who am i
My name is Paul Sines, and I created reconnection because I believe we all carry within us the possibility of change and that our part of our purpose is to evolve towards wholeness.
I’m a Trauma Informed Coach and a humanistic integrative counsellor in training, currently completing a diploma in Integrative Humanistic Counselling. But more than any title or qualification, I am someone who has lived through trauma, anxiety, addiction, and recovery — and who knows my own non linear, uneven road back to regulation, self awareness and purpose.
I have trained alongside therapists and clinicians on The Voyage® trauma-informed care programme — an integration of neuroscience, nervous system and somatic body awareness and regulation. I have completed a certification in Transformative Coaching with Animas, accredited by the ICF, which deepens my practice in person-centred and humanistic approaches. In addition, I have completed Module 1 (with Module 2 pending) in EMDR training at the EMDR Centre London, further enhancing my understanding of trauma processing and memory reconsolidation. These trainings have provided a rich and versatile toolkit, yet they are never a replacement for presence, compassion, and curiosity — the qualities that sit at the heart of my work.
I know how isolating it feels to be stuck in patterns of fear, shame, or disconnection. I also know how transformative it can be to have someone alongside you — not to fix you, but to walk with you as you rediscover your own strength, clarity, and self-leadership.
Throughout my life and to this point I have navigated, survived, cried out, acted out, been angry, hated myself, blamed others, blamed the world and it’s systems, been selfish, been generous, been kind, been patient, experienced enlightenment and epiphany, experienced personal adversity, addiction, and recovery with courage and a growing sense of purpose. My path has woven together hard-won self-awareness, spiritual exploration, and a commitment to healing — both my own and that of others. From practical work and leadership in care settings to deep dives into trauma, psychology, and coaching, I am happy to say I am steadily evolving from surviving to serving — turning experience into empathy, pain into insight, and reflection into meaningful connection with the people I love and support.
If this is to be the statement I would like to make then I feel I need to say that I am — I am grateful to the many incredible people who have moved through my life. When I look back, my path has been marked by repeated mistakes and misjudgements — moments of shame, choices, and behaviours that I know have hurt others, sometimes in ways that felt unforgivable. I hold deep remorse that so much of my growth came through the pain of others. Yet, within that truth, I also hold immense gratitude. Gratitude for what life — and the people in it — have taught me, and for all that I am still learning. To those I’ve hurt, I’m sorry for how long that learning has taken. And to myself, I offer forgiveness. A reminder not to live in fear or guilt, but to keep trying — always trying — to live with greater awareness, compassion, and integrity.
My approach is not clinical, though it is deeply informed by clinical wisdom. It is human, relational, and grounded.
Ultimately, this work is about coming home — both you and me.
My role is not to lead you, but to gladly and with privilege walk beside you as you (re)gulate, (re)store, (re)inhabit, (re)claim, and (re)imagine what your life can be.
If any of this resonates, I’d love to start a conversation.
